The fantasy season doesn't end with Week 16. Nay, verily I say unto thee, neither does it end with Week 17. Not at the Fantasy Football Digest.

Each year FFDigest.com holds a postseason contest. The rules are very simple. After a $10 fee for each entry (fees will be accepted until Wild Card Saturday; click here to pay online fees or click here to get a printable order form), you choose a typical fantasy lineup that you think will score best in postseason:

  • 1 QB
  • 2 RB
  • 3 REC (WR and/or TE)
  • 1 PK
  • 1 Defense/special teams unit

NO MORE THAN TWO PLAYERS from any one NFL team (the term "player" includes D/ST unit).

TIEBREAKER: Number of points that will be scored in the Super Bowl (NFL points, not fantasy points).

You may enter as many times as you like.

There is no draft in this contest; just choose your eight players AND take your guess at the tiebreaker. Put together the fantasy team you think will score the most during the NFL playoffs, beginning with the wild card games and ending with the Super Bowl, in accordance with scoring rules below.

    SCORING:

4 pts for all passing TDs
6 pts for all rushing & receiving TDs
6 pts for all defensive & special teams TDs (these TDs will count for the team unit, NOT the individual player)
1 pt for each 10 rushing & receiving yds
1 pt for each 25 passing yds
2 pts for each rushing & receiving 2-pt conversion
1 pt for each passing 2-pt conversion
-2 pts for each turnover committed
    3 pts for each FG
    1 pt for each XP

In addition to 6 pts per TD, defenses receive:

2 pts for each takeaway (including blocked kicks)
    1 pt for each sack
    5 pts for each safety
    8 pts for shutout
5 pts for allowing 2-10 pts
2 pts for allowing 11-16 pts
(defenses will NOT be charged for points scored by opposing defense; they WILL be charged for points scored by opposing special teams)

ALL ENTRIES must be via e-mail and received no later than 11am Eastern time on Wild Card Saturday. Any fees sent via ground mail must be postmarked no later than the Friday before Wild Card Saturday.

    PRIZES:

1st place: 50% of fees received
2nd place: 15% of fees received
3rd place: 10% of fees received

The 2000 postseason champion, Dave DeDonato, earned $210 thanks largely to his astute selections of the Baltimore kicker and defense. Our 2001 winner was Danny Dowell, who snuck past the competition because his lineup included the Patriots D, a unit chosen by few competitors; this choice helped nudge his lineup, which was otherwise fairly standard, beyond the others.

(Since our staff does submit entries but is not eligible for cash prizes, only the top 3 paid entries will be considered as 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place.)

This contest is not in a draft format, so nobody's going to "steal" a favorite player from you. You select your eight players, make a tiebreaker guess, and we go.
